ticketbastard Tax Tracker

Jerry E.: "I just tried to order some tickets from Ticketmaster but was told that the $68 tickets I wanted were sold out. I was then given TicketsNow as an option where the same tickets were priced from $250-400!!! What a gdamm ripoff. I finally found some tickets at $58 with a $10.95 convenience charge plus a processing fee of $4. If I had the money I would attempt to compete with Ticketmaster. Bastards!"
Jason R.: "Would have been nice to know they were $20.25 and not $16.00 tickets before I went through 5 screens of crap. I hate that place!"
Jeff M.: "Ticketmaster. Is there another corporation that embodies pure evil more than this one? I really can't imagine. It never ceases to infuriate me when I do a ticket order with the Evil Which Controls All Venues.

More than 50% over the ticket price for Ticketmaster fees? After the revolution, no Ticketmaster. Where's Obama on this issue?

venicemike: "Went to see Everclear/Soul Asylum/Camper Van Beethoven at HOB Hollywood on June 26, 2008. I checked their web site before I left and saw that tickets were $27.50. When I get there they add on an extra $5.00 per ticket at their own box office, for a total of $32.50 per ticket. I paid cash so this wasn't a credit card fee. I have never heard of a club adding an extra fee to their own cover charge."
Heather Rose W.: "I had to make the purchase because it was a gift and already expected, but NEVER AGAIN! I swear if Pink Floyd reunites and John Lennon comes back from the dead to do a benefit concert to end world hunger I will not buy tickets through ticketmaster. I'm writing the venues who use them to ask them to please use Brown Paper Tickets or another ticket site that follows the "Not-Just-For-Profit" business model."
Paul G.: "It would be good for your site to have the ability for users to sign up because I couldn't find a form to add my negative feedback about ticketmaster to your site.

Ticketmaster really pissed me off yesterday because they wanted a $14 'service' fee to buy three tickets online. I opted to buy the tickets in person at the event instead.

It was actually a site called ticketweb.com. I looked for an about us page or a form in which to say 'screw your $14 service fee' but they had no such form. I found they were a part of ticketmaster. I searched again for a contact form so I could say 'screw your $14 service fee' but I was so inconvenienced with this form they built, I decided to call.

I pressed the keys to get a person on the phone, but instead, I got a very rude loop of audio telling me to have my credit card ready and it played every 10 seconds about 20 times.

By now I was pissed because I only wanted to contact them in order to say 'fuck you', but I couldn't get through. So I was like, 'this is war'. Not really, but I'm just saying, ticketmaster.com is a big fat fuck you to anyone who has the displeasure of their 'services'."

Kris K.: "But what most recently got me was when I won 4 lawn tickets to see Eric Clapton on 06/04/08 off a local radio station. It was at the newly named Comcast Center, (formerly the Tweeter Center... so what, Tweeter goes under and the monopoly that is ticketmaster partners up with ANOTHER monopoly? AND BEER GOES TO 9.00????) Thank God I won the tickets, I went on ticketbastard (excuse me... Live Nation... same god damn thing) to see how much it would have cost if I bought the tickets, and after all of the various bull shit charges were added on, four lawn tickets would have cost me 350 dollars. Something needs to be done.

Keep on rockin, and down with ticketbastard,"

Randy S.: "Yes, we all know the TM fees are exorbitant and their service bl0ws, but the thing that really gets me is that the fees are not disclosed until AFTER the tickets go onsale. I feel that this practice is deceptive to consumers and forces people to make purchases under duress, often with other people's money, and should be illegal. What I mean by this is that purchasing event tickets is a unique buying experience from any other product. Often, one must get tickets as soon as they go on sale in order to get decent seats, or even get into the event for that matter. Also, most people go to events with friends, but one person must buy the tickets for everyone in their group in order to sit together. Therefore, since Ticketmaster is creating duress for the consumer by disclosing the true price of the tickets after they go onsale and then forcing the consumer to make a buying decision in 2 min 15 sec. One can anticipate fees, but often fees can be 20% or more than anticipated."
Scott H.: "Thanks greg for your efforts. I have pretty much stopped going to events when tickets prices were rising. But them whores at ticketbastard are the worst."
Dana B.: "Let me know how I can help to get something done about the Ticket Mafia, I'm fed up and am willing to devote my life to seeing them fall, well some of my life anyway......"
Jason K.: "(Plus the extra fees for getting your tickets.........$2.50 to print your own! Bastards!! UPS is between $18.50 - $25, or you can pick up the tickets for $1 each! They CHARGE you to pick up the tickets, too??? What the hell????) On the $60 tickets, the convenience charge suddenly jumps to $10.50 from $8.30. Spending more money is more convenient? These assholes need to be stopped. I have already boycotted any event where Ticketmaster is the sole source of tickets."
Peter K.: "Just got raped by Ticketmaster."
Scott M.: "I thought the convenience charge was the order processing fee. Guess I was wrong. Total charges were still 20% of the ticket price. Ridiculous. I don't go to concerts much anymore because of TicketMaster."
rgp215: "What I learned, is that even though I never printed or picked up my tickets, Ticketmaster keeps $3.15 ("order processing") and $2.50 (TicketFast delivery fee) of my original charge even though the none of this was because of my error."
George P.: "How can they keep getting away with this?"
Laurent S.: "Ticketmaster is getting worse and worse and increasing or adding new fees every year. ... That's the last time I order tickets from them."
James O.: "Tickets are 18.50 through ticketmaster only, not available anywhere else. Fees are 7.50 per ticket not to include shipping. Why? What the hell is there malfunction?"
  Joanne B.: "Another Ticketmaster Plunder"
Dante M.: "Just paid $35 for a ticket marked as $21 through the ticketmaster website. They suck in a $5 transaction fee at the last minute, after the invoice, just before the billing step. Jerks."
  Dante M.: "Outrageous Behaviour"
Brentonius S.: "What the fuck is a building facility charge, and how can they assess a convenience charge when you buy at the box office of the venue!?!?!?!? I REALLY HATE TICKETMASTER!"
John G.: "...do something about these highway robbery assholes."
Brandon L: "I just got bent over for tickets to the Band of Horses show in Dallas. Here's the rundown. I HATE these MF'ers!!!!!!!!"
jonnyHal: "Add me to your list of Ticketmaster haters -- but for a different reason. I'm working a project tracking all my junk mail -- and exposing the douche-bags that help create it. Ticketmaster -- and it's evil Corporate Overlord, IAC -- represent some of the worst offenders of, and on, the planet."
John 3: "I absolutely refuse to pay prices like these! How outrageous!! I will just go to the venue the day of the show after work and see if I can't pick up a ticket at the box office. If they are sold out, I will go home."
Parker S.: "Dear Senator (McCain, Kyle,) FTC, Rep Franks: I am fed up with Ticketmaster's monopoly and unreasonable fees and their demand to keep fees when a concert or event is canceled. Consumers deserve a full refund for purchases canceled, not Ticketmaster withholding fees to cover their expenses. Every other store refunds your entire purchase price and has no right to withhold a portion for salaries, rent, overhead. Why should Ticketmaster have the right to say we aren't refunding 100% of your purchase? They say I agreed to the policy to let them keep certain fees at time of purchase of tickets. Since they are the only game in the world, I have to agree to anything they require when buying tickets to anything. Congress should do something to protect the consumer from this company's monopolistic control on the ticket market.
Leslie: "...and was astonished to see the exorbitant price of the terribly inconvenient 'convenience' fees."
Jerry F.: "The only way to beat these money hungry corporate rats is to boycott their sales. It must be an entire area boycotting all their events for a length of time to hurt them. I refuse to go to any concert that I have to go thru ticketmaster. I know several others that are this way also... I have the money but will not be ripped off by these people"
Mark D.: "How can a show at the same venue, same time, same show, have different fees associated with them? Do the tickets weigh more, so it cost more to mail them? Are they printed on a special paper? Do they include a happy ending? (I am being sarcastic) This is robbery!!!!"
Micaela S.: "Oh did I mention that they are getting even better this year by limiting how many tickets you can buy per transaction, so know if you need more than 4 tickets that is more than one processing and printing charge!!! I HATE TICKETMASTER!!!!!!!!"
Mike C.: "Its ridiculous, I hate them."
  Adam L.: "Absolutely ridiculous!"
Nick T: "I've attached my order summary for you to peruse to see the ridiculous fees (I opted to not pay the $2.50 to print my own tickets WTF!). Will any of this make a difference? Probably not, but I feel a little less pissed off now."
Nancy P re KJEE's Beach Ball: "Tickets were $40 at the door. Which I should have done, given that the show didn't come close to selling out. But I didn't want to risk that 2 1/2 hour drive without a ticket in hand..." - Good point, major fans are typically going to succumb to the ticketbastard tax out of necessity.
Aidan L: "If I could possibly do anything to bring this company down, I would."
Joanne B: "This slimeball company rates with the oil companies and their record profits."
  Dale P: "I hate Ticketmaster."
Katie M: "...god I hate ticketmaster....THEY are the reason I don't go to concerts."
Lauren R: "El Rey has no box office, so ticketmaster is your ONLY option... This was by far my worst ticketmaster experience either."
matt: "i cannot get over the 'print yer own ticket' fee! theyre charging *me* to save *them* printing & distribution costs! whaaa?"
