I just got an email from Ticketmaster with the subject "Houston Astros Special ticket Offers" saying that they're offering me the "exciting opportunity to bid on a Dugout Box Auction Package" to see the Astros - Pirates game on June 6th. The starting "bid" is $100 per ticket. Well guess what? I clicked the "buy single game" tickets link from the "auction" site and you can buy virtually identical Dugout Box tickets that way for $50 each! So what they're pretending is an auction is really just a blatant con game to try to get people to pay double price for tickets! And $100 is just the "starting bid" so if some sucker outbids me, or more likely Ticketmaster just tells me I've been outbid, they might ask for even more! What will these crooks think of next? Granted, the "auction" package includes a parking pass and $40 in "astrobucks", but even with that and the Ticketbastard fees they're asking $400 for about $275 in value. God I hate them. Bob |
