| I just got an email from Peter K. who paid an extra 76% in fees, the highest percentage for tickets over $20 yet. That's ridiculous! | |
| I just got an email from John G, he had to pay an $8 Ticketmaster "convenience" charge on top of his $20 ticket AT THE DOOR. What in the hell is up with that? Why is House of Blues taking a ticketbastard tax at the door? venicemike also wrote that the HOB website had a ticket price of $27.50 but when he showed up at the door he was hit with an additional $5.00 ticketbastard tax. THAT'S FALSE ADVERTISING!!! | |
| This site is dedicated to lobbying congress, the FTC and the DOJ to once again investigate Ticketmaster and their monopolistic practices. Clearly they have no competition or they would be charging less than $6.75 in fees for a virtual ticket worth only $10. It's time for the many of us concert goers and sports fans who think that Ticketmaster absolutely and unequivocally sucks to make our voices heard again. | |
| See the comments for great suggestions on how to pressure Ticketmaster to change such as boycotting and also to see the reasons beyond their absurdly high fees on why they suck so hard. We need to boycott events where Ticketmaster handles the ticket sales. If not boycott, then we need to be letting our favorite venues, bands, sports teams, etc. know that we're tired of these outrageous fees and that if they want to retain their fans they're going to have to start pushing back on the bastards. | |
| Color me clueless but I just learned that Ticketmaster also owns the second largest ticket distributor in the USA, Ticketweb! No wonder Ticketweb fees have risen to the level of Ticketmaster's. Nice way to maintain their monopoly while making it look like they have competition! Bastards!!! Yet another reason why Ticketmaster completely sucks! | |
| Please email (my email address is at the bottom of this page) me your Ticketmaster experiences and fees for the Ticketbastard Tax Tracker. If you could also include whether the venue has their own box office for advance ticket sales or whether Ticketmaster is the only outlet I'd appreciate it. I'm mostly looking for fee-related submissions but I'd also be interested in hearing any info about inside selling of high demand tickets. | |
| And no, I'm not a sellout, Ticketmastersucks.org will never be sold to Ticketmaster. Even if the miracle happened where they dropped their fees to under 5% of ticket face value from the current 15% to 70% I'll keep the domain in case we need to start the site up again or I'll pass it on to someone I trust. | |
